Kim is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on the health care sector. Kim regularly acts as counsel for hospitals and their employees in medical malpractice cases. She also provides health care institutions with general advisory services in areas including risk management, adverse events, multi-patient lookbacks, civil sexual assault and quality of care reviews.

Kim represents regulated health professionals in proceedings before regulatory colleges and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB). She advises clients in the long-term care home sector on issues involving substitute decision makers and mental health law. Kim also provides advisory services and representation to fertility clinics and clients in the reproductive health sector. She is regularly retained by institutions to investigate allegations of civil sexual assault.

  • Counsel to hospitals in medical negligence litigation.
  • Counsel for regulated health professionals in respect of disciplinary proceedings before various Colleges.
  • Provides legal advice on healthcare law for staff members of the healthcare network.
  • Provides advice to and acts as counsel for fertility clinics and clients in the reproductive health sector.
  • Provides advice and represents healthcare and social service establishments in major settlement negotiations.
  • Counsel to a number of clients in insurance litigation including risk and bodily injury claims, property damage claims professional liability claims and subrogated claims.
